Acting on intelligence, officers raided two separate premises in Wright Street on Saturday, 5 July 2025, uncovering significant quantities of heroin, tik, and mandrax, as reported by the South African Poilce Service .

At the first location, officers detained a 69-year-old man after discovering 45 units of heroin and mandrax tablets hidden inside the property. The suspect, who faces charges of drug possession, was taken into custody without incident.
