Mothusi Montwedi, the third witness at the North West Legislatures Ad-Hoc Committee investigating allegations of improper conduct of Premier Lazarus Mokgosi, has refuted the testimony that was made by the Mayor of the Naledi Local Municipality, Clifton Groep earlier this week.
Groep told the Committee that Montwedi called him on behalf of Mokgosi to caution him against appealing a North West High Court ruling, that set aside the appointment of Modisenyane Segapo as the municipal manager, because the applicants had no money to pay their lawyers.
The committees probe stems from allegations levelled by Groep, that Mokgosi interfered in the recruitment process of the municipal manager.
