Brentford continued their good preseason turn out under new boss Keith Andrews as they defeated Queens Park Rangers 1-0 in another preseason game. Softfootball saw how the Bees played a 1-1 draw in their first preseason game against Portuguese side, Gil Vincente.
Brentford had lost their key man from last season, Bryan Mbeumo to Manchester United so they are now planning to regroup. They did not only lose Mbeumo, they also lost their coach and captain in the transfer window.
The problems will continue for the Bees as Yoane Wissa is reported to be leaving the club this summer as well. The Congolese was one of Brentford most influential players last season. He scored 19 goals and assisted 4 times in 35 matches.
Softfootball gathered that some clubs are interested in Wissa this summer and are looking to approach Brentford for the attacker. Newcastle are reported to be the most serious among the suitors as they are ready to offer 25m although rejected by the Bees.
Wissa was not involved in the win over QPR and speculations have begun unto the strikers future as a Bee. Journalist, Ben Jacobs had also reported the situation on his verified X handle . He wrote:
If Brentford were to sell Wissa, they would have ended up selling the front three of Ivan Toney, Bryan Mbeumo. The long list of exits at Brentford is most likely to continue as Wissa has requested to leave officially.
Newcastle United who are being ripped by Liverpools offer for Alex Isak will need to return with a stronger offer if they are to get the Congolese on board.
