Ntsiki Mazwai has accused Minister of Sport, Arts and Culture Gayton McKenzie of corruption and favouritism over Unathi Nkayi's inclusion in the Havana International Book Fair.
Ntsiki claims she was initially invited but later removed, questioning Unathis credentials as a writer.
You put in people like Unathi whos not even a writer or a poet to be representing us at the book fair. To my understanding she doesnt even have a book. For some of us who have books, masters degrees in writing, it is a complete insult.
Its fine that you felt sorry for her when she was crying but to use our public funds to appease yourselves is where the corruption is, she said.
McKenzie defended the decision, saying he sought racial inclusion in the selection process and rejected allegations of favouritism.
