Cape Town - President Cyril Ramaphosa says the issues raised by US President Donald Trump during their Oval Office meeting would be addressed in due course.

The meeting, initially cordial, turned contentious when Trump brought up farm attacks in South Africa and showed videos of EFF leader Julius Malema, falsely suggesting a genocide against white farmers and questioning why Malema hadn't been arrested.

Ramaphosa, speaking later at a funeral, declined to discuss details further, emphasising the occasion's solemnity.

"I am at a funeral and we are here to mourn, and I would prefer that I'm allowed to mourn. All these issues will be duly addressed properly. Here I've come to mourn my sister, and the deputy president of the ANC Women's League. So I'm in the mood of mourning, if you don't mind," Ramaphosa said.

Earlier in the week, the president clarified that Starlink, Elon Musk's satellite internet service, was not discussed during the meeting.
