A significant leadership transition is underway within Walmart's African operations after Walmart Africa and Massmart chief operating officer Dries D'Hooghe confirmed he is stepping away from the global retail giant, bringing an eight-year chapter across two continents to a close.
D'Hooghe, who played a key role in bringing Walmart- branded stores to South Africa, announced his departure via a personal social media message on LinkedIn, as per Daily Investor , looking back on almost ten years with the company in both Canada and South Africa.
Today is my last day at Walmart, and I am leaving with gratitude for an incredible journey, he wrote, adding that Walmart's mission of s aving people money so they can live better isnt a tagline, but something he witnessed across multiple markets.
