South African gospel group Wacha Mkhukhu Wachumlilo has won the Best Gospel Group award at the Thobela FM Sepedi Music Awards held at Meropa Casino on Sunday, marking a significant milestone in the group's two-decade career.
Founded in 2005 by the late Charles Nkosana Kodi and Lucas Mojeremane Xale, the group has built a strong following over the years, despite not previously securing a major industry award.
The latest recognition comes on the back of their album Re Kgoeletsa Magodimong, which has been widely praised as one of their most accomplished projects to date. The album features emerging talent Kago Molefe as a lead vocalist, alongside contributions from Paul K, Keke, Musa Mhlawuli, Simon Makgatholela and Given Moganedi.
