The Gauteng Traffic Police is urging bus drivers to take full responsibility for road safety ahead of the Easter rush . Speaking at a safety campaign in Dobsonville, spokesperson Sello Maremane stressed the importance of thorough pre-trip inspections to ensure buses are roadworthy before departure.

He says reckless behaviour, including unsafe overtaking and impatience in heavy traffic, continues to contribute to crashes .

Maremane also appealed to pedestrians to prioritise their own safety, cautioning against jaywalking and other dangerous conduct on busy roads and freeways.
