The Western Cape government has strengthened disaster readiness measures ahead of two intense cold fronts expected to affect parts of the province from Sunday to Tuesday.
Provincial Environmental Affairs and Development Planning Minister, Anton Bredell, says disaster management centres across all districts, including Cape Town, are on high alert.
This is as municipalities prepare for service disruptions after the South African Weather Service SAWS forecast heavy rainfall that may lead to flooding.
