Mpumalanga police say acts of violence and lawlessness will not be tolerated during and after the demonstrations on the 30th of June against undocumented foreign nationals . This was announced by the Provincial Acting Police Commissioner, Zeph Mkhwanazi at a media briefing outlining the state of readiness of the Mpumalanga police at Alkmar N4 route west of Mbombela.

Mkhwanazi says their members will be on standby to protect citizens and properties.

Serve without fear or favour and remember that our mandate is to protect lives, protect properties, protect rights and protect peace. Think about the bill of rights section 36 what it says. You got powers but you are limited by section 36, it means whatever we do it within the confined of the law, adds Mkhwanazi.
