Var Project In South Africa Still In 'infancy Stages,' Safa Says

The South African Football Association SAFA says the project to introduce the Video Assistant Referee VAR system in South African football is still in its early stages.

Football fans are eagerly awaiting the systems introduction given the numerous officiating errors witnessed in topflight football in recent years.

The VAR project is a complex, high-priority initiative and is currently in its infancy stages of technical assessment, planning and stakeholder alignment, SAFAs Referees Department and the VAR Project Team said in a statement on Monday 17 November.
