The V A Waterfront has commenced its R20 billion Granger Bay expansion, starting with land reclamation and infrastructure work that will transform Cape Town's coastline.

The project is unfolding in phases, with phase 'zero' focusing on enablement work, marine construction, and infrastructure at a cost of R189.5 million. Phase one includes a R121 million basement behind The Table Bay Hotel and a R1.35 billion super-luxury hotel set to open in March 2026.

The expansion also involves refurbishing The Table Bay into the InterContinental Table Bay and completing the R700 million 5 Dock Road residential development. The Granger Bay phase will feature a seawall, breakwaters, and public amenities like tidal pools and promenades.
