The Cape Argus reports, EMS spokesperson Simoney Regter said that the patient was extracted by rescue teams and transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care, while a second individual was assessed and treated on scene.
A rescue mission is underway on Chapman's Peak Drive after a car plunged about 100 metres off the Noordhoek side of the scenic route on Sunday, leaving one person trapped inside the vehicle.
The Chapman's Peak Drive incident follows an earlier accident reported on the same stretch of road, but authorities have confirmed this is a separate and more serious emergency. The vehicle is believed to have veered off the roadway before crashing onto rocks below, prompting a large-scale response from emergency services.
