South African Police Service SAPS Deputy National Commissioner for Crime Detection, Lt-Gen Shadrack Sibiya, has confirmed that police conducted a search-and-seizure raid at his residence in Centurion, Tshwane, on Thursday 9 October.
Earlier reports suggested that he was about to be arrested for defeating the ends of justice. However, this did not happen.
Sibiya speaks on police raidI was under the impression that it the arrest was going to happen. Im expecting it anytime. General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi said yesterday that its imminent. Its been imminent since last year, so Im still waiting, Sibiya told reporters outside his home after the raid.
