Two people have died in a collision involving two light motor vehicles and a truck on the R614 in Upper Tongaat , north of Durban.
Emergency services say the events leading up to the crash are unclear.
Spokesperson for Reaction Unit South Africa, Prem Balram, says, Reaction Unit South Africa was called to the R614 in Upper Tongaat yesterday afternoon. We were informed by passing motorists of an accident. When officers and paramedics arrived on the scene they found that two light motor vehicles had collided with a heavy motor vehicle, a truck that was transporting sugar cane. The drivers of the vehicles were females they were both deceased on the scene. The cause of the accident was not immediately established.
