da demands action against corrupt ministers after whitfields dismissal

The Democratic Alliance DA has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to President Cyril Ramaphosa, demanding the dismissal of several African National Congress ANC ministers and deputy ministers implicated in corruption, Cape town Etc reports.

This demand comes in the wake of the controversial firing of DA Deputy Minister Andrew Whitfield from his post in the Department of Trade, Industry and Competition.

DAs John Steenhuisen has labelled Whitfield's dismissal as a calculated political assault and accused Ramaphosa of exercising a double standard in his treatment of party officials.

While Ramaphosa acted swiftly to remove Whitfield, allegedly due to his failure to obtain presidential approval for an international trip, a cloud of corruption hangs over ANC leaders who have yet to face any repercussions for serious allegations against them.

Among the ministers the DA is targeting are Justice Minister Thembi Simelane, Higher Education Minister Nobuhle Nkabane and Deputy Minister of Water and Sanitation David Mahlobo.
