The City of Tshwanes Emergency Services says it remains on high alert following a Red Fire Danger Index warning, issued by the South African Weather Service SAWS.
The weather service has issued a warning of extremely dangerous veld fire conditions across most parts of Gauteng, including Pretoria. It says these conditions are expected to persist until late on Sunday evening.
City officials have appealed to all its communities to exercise heightened vigilance.
