The City of Tshwane says it will begin with its electricity project immediately to address ongoing illegal connections .
Tshwane MMC for Utility Services, Frans Boshielo, says this initiative focuses on settlements located in close proximity to existing electricity infrastructure where illegal connections have become widespread.
He says unlawful connections have contributed to recurring power outages, damage to infrastructure and serious safety risks.
