The Port of Cape Town has recently showcased major operational enhancements, as documented by the Transnet National Ports Authority TNPA.
These improvements have been reflected in terminal performance metrics, a reduced Ship Turnaround Time STAT, and heightened cargo volumes across crucial commodity sectors.
In a remarkable stride for efficiency, the Port has seen its Container Terminal STAT drop from 103 hours in the 2023/24 financial year to an impressive 74 hours in 2025/26. Furthermore, the current financial year of 2026/27 is on track to maintain this upward trend, achieving a year-to-date STAT average of just 58 hours.
