The Democratic Republic of Congo arrives in Davos 2026 with a clear message - without peace, there can be no investment! Peace will be predicated on respect for the country's sovereignity, territorial integrity and an end to external support for armed groups all anchored in line with the Washington peace agreement between the DRC and Rwanda and UN Security Council Resolution 2773. The country is also attending the forum with a resonant theme, "A Spirit of Dialogue", which centres on rebuilding cooperation in an era of conflict and fragmentation.
At Davos, leaders from the DRC - which has been described as a nation of solutions for Africa and the world because of its unique potential, which it chooses to activate through strategic partnerships in a spirit of dialogue based on sovereignty and verifiable peace - will address issues that cut across the following:
Key Issues at Davos 2026Co-operation in a contested world through renewed trust and innovative alliances
Reinventing growth by identifying new, sustainable economic drivers
Investing in people via skills development, well-being and transition support
Responsible deployment of innovation , especially generative AI and
Prosperity within planetary boundaries , including energy security, climate action and water stewardship.
Peace and security will be at the heart of all discussions. The DRC is fully committed to upholding the terms of the peace negotiations, which serve not only its own national interest but those of the region, Africa as a whole, and the international community. The parameters for peace have been clearly defined, and any transgression of these agreements cannot be permitted. It is also this message of peace that the country will be promoting as it assumes its non-permanent seat at the UN security council.
