Cape Town CBD tyre slashing has led to the arrest of a 32-year-old taxi driver following a December incident that left a City patrol vehicle immobile during a busy enforcement operation in the city centre, reports Cape town Etc .
The arrest follows a coordinated investigation into an incident on 23 December 2025 at the intersection of Lower Plein and Strand streets, a known pressure point for taxi and traffic enforcement in the CBD.
A Traffic Services officer had parked a marked patrol vehicle at the intersection while conducting duties nearby. On returning, the officer found the tyres deliberately slashed .
