After tasting success in the CECAFA Senior Womens Championship, Tanzania will no doubt hope to carry their recent form into the coveted Womens Africa Cup of Nations showpiece next month.
The Twiga stars bagged the CECAFA title last Saturday, following a tense 1-0 win against Kenya in the final that was played at the Azam Complex Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
Tanzania were dominant throughout the campaign and scored 13 goals in four matches, without conceding a goal en-route to the final.
Nonetheless, Tanzania will now begin preparations for the WAFCON tournament, where they have been drawn alongside Ghana, Mali and reigning champions South Africa in Group C.
The Twiga stars will make their second WAFCON appearance in July, with their most recent qualification being in 2010, when the tournament was held in South Africa. Unfortunately, Tanzania finished last in Group A, after suffering losses to Nigeria, Mali and Banyana Banyana.
