The National Prosecuting Authority NPA in Gauteng has confirmed that two preservation orders secured by the Asset Forfeiture Unit have been served on members of two syndicates implicated in fraud and corruption at the Tembisa Hospital.
The investigation came as a result of a report from slain whistle-blower and senior Gauteng Health official a Babita Deokaran . She was assassinated outside her Johannesburg home in August 2021.
Her report detailed suspected procurement irregularities within the Tembisa Hospitals Supply Chain Management.
