But in township schools across Gauteng and rural provinces such as the Free State, Wesolve4X, a nonprofit organisation, is rewriting that story.

Founded in 2013 by actuarial analyst Tsietsi Ngobese, now its CEO, Wesolve4X offers free extra mathematics classes to learners in grades 4-12, with a strong focus on under-resourced schools.
