bokaaps new market puts locals first

Cape Town's iconic, color-splashed Bo-Kaap neighborhood is getting a vibrant new entrepreneurial heart. A brand-new market is promising to boost the local economy while offering a genuine taste of the areas rich cultural heritage.

The central promise of this new initiative, spearheaded by the City of Cape Town, is to prioritise traders and residents of the Bo-Kaap itself. Slated for the corner of Pentz Street and Yusuf Drive, the market is envisioned as more than just a shopping destination it's designed to become a community focal point, especially in the upcoming festive season, as highlighted by EWN.

Speaking about the city's plans, Lance Greyling, director of economic development and investment, explained that local traders from the Bo-Kaap community will be the ones featured at the new market.
