Three suspected robbers who shot and killed three community patrollers at the Bhambayi area in Inanda north of Durban, had allegedly robbed several homes in the area before the shooting incident. Thats according to one of the leaders of community patrollers Thembelihle Mdiya.
One patroller was killed at the scene, while two others later succumbed to their wounds in hospital. One of the suspected robbers was killed during the exchange of gunfire.
Mdiya says community patrollers took to the streets after receiving reports from residents who had allegedly been robbed, in an attempt to track down the suspects.
