City of Cape Towns Traffic Services department made an arrest this past weekend of a suspected arsonist, whose actions were captured on CCTV.
This incident adds to a significant string of 375 arrests made by city enforcement agencies within the week.
The arrest occurred just after midnight on Saturday, 17 January, when the Traffic Communications Centre, aided by the Freeway Management System FMS cameras, observed a figure setting fire to vegetation on the M5 northbound, just before Berkeley Road.
