Suspect Arrested In Connection With Table Mountain Fire

City of Cape Town authorities say a man has been arrested, suspected of arson relating to the wildfire affecting the Tokai and Silvermine sections of Table Mountain National Park.

The fire is not yet contained.

Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security, JP Smith says they received information of a person walking up the mountain in Clovelly.

He says law enforcement officers found the person close to a started fire in the mountain away from the fire line.

The man was arrested yesterday on charges of arson.
