Democratic Alliance DA leader John Steenhuisen has rejected the suggestion that more parties must be added into the Government of National Unity GNU , stating that it would only further complicate things within the coalition.

Steenhuisen was speaking at a press briefing today, where he revealed the DAs plans to grow the economy for jobs and proposed changes to the BEE, Employment Equity and Expropriation Acts.

His comments come after the ANC indicated its plans to expand the GNU by possibly including parties like the MKP and the EFF. Steenhuisen says that more energy needs to be spent on improving relations among parties within the GNU.

He adds, Particularly on how you find ways to consult, how you deal with conflict management and dispute resolution mechanisms that to date remain unavailable. And that is why every time there is a bit of frisson in the coalition, it blows up into a massive storm.
