Standard Bank has announced that its Rosebank , Maponya Mall and Westgate branches will offer smart ID application and renewal services under the Department of Home Affairs DHA new digital partnership model during a launch phase.
The bank has already been partnering with DHA for 10 years to offer the services at around nine branches in several provinces. Absa, FNB, Nedbank, Investec and Discovery Bank have also been part of the partnership.
However, DHAs new model aims to increase the number of bank branches providing these services to over 1,000 countrywide by 2029. It also connects bank branch infrastructure directly to DHAs systems.
