Various governmental departments hold events to celebrate International Day of the Boy Child. The Gauteng Legislature is hosting the inaugural Boy-Child Sector Parliament in Alberton, whilst the Department of Basic Education hosts an event to discuss issues facing the boy child.

The engagement seeks to empower and equip young boys to become responsible citizens and active advocates for a violence-free society.
