South Africa's Second-richest Man, Nicky Oppenheimer, Now Worth 13 Billion

Nicky Oppenheimers fortune rose 1.43 billion in 2025, lifting his net worth to 13 billion, Bloomberg Billionaires Index shows.

Oppenheimers investments through Stockdale Street and Tana Africa Capital fuel growth beyond diamonds, including stakes in consumer and industrial sectors.

Beyond business, he invests heavily in conservation, co-owning South Africas largest private game reserve and Zimbabwes Shangani Ranch.

South African billionaire Nicky Oppenheimer , the countrys second-richest person, has seen his fortune swell by 13 billion, narrowing the gap with Johann Rupert, who leads the ranking with 15.3 billion. The surge has strengthened Oppenheimers standing not only in South Africa but also among the worlds wealthiest individuals.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index , which tracks the worlds top 500 billionaires, Oppenheimers wealth has climbed steadily this year, adding 1.43 billion since January. His net worth now stands at about 13 billion, up from 11.5 billion at the beginning of the year.

Much of this growth is tied to private investments handled through Stockdale Street in London and Tana Africa Capital in Johannesburg, vehicles that have allowed the Oppenheimer family to remain active across industries even after leaving the diamond trade.
