South Africa has successfully secured access to export fish products to the United States beyond January 2026 in a significant boost to its fishing sector, Cape town Etc reports.
This pivotal achievement comes following the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's National Marine Fisheries Service NOAA Fisheries determining that South Africas regulatory programme for the protection of marine mammals meets comparability standards set under the Marine Mammal Protection Act Import Provisions.
This recognition is more than just a formality it underlines South Africas commitment to sustainable fishing practices and its esteemed role in the global seafood market.
