Firefighting crews have been deployed after a blaze erupted in the Soetwater area, past Slangkop lighthouse and Kommetjie on Monday, 22 December, reports Cape town Etc .
Community newsgroups have reported that the Soetwater mountain pass will be closed, and are urging members of the public to steer clear of the area and refrain from stopping to see the fire, as fire services become hindered due to the narrow road.
