Indian skipper Shubman Gill had to be admitted to a hospital after the batter retired hurt at the Eden Gardens. The Indian team have, however, denied any workload issues and has claimed it to be a bad night's sleep.
As India and South Africa clashed for the first Test at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Captain Shubman Gill faced a major setback in the form of an injury. The injury came after he faced just three balls in the innings.
The BCCI had reported that Shubman Gill's neck spasm would be monitored, and his return would only be planned accordingly. Shubman Gill did not come out to bat in the innings, as he was retired hurt, and then Rishabh Pant has been captaining the team in his absence.
