South African Police Service SAPS Deputy National Commissioner for Crime Detection, Lt-Gen Shadrack Sibiya, says hes waiting for a positive outcome in his court battle with his boss, National Commissioner General Fannie Masemola.
Sibiya is challenging Masemolas decision to place him on leave of absence. The SAPS boss claims his deputy ignored his directive to disband the Political Killings Task Team gradually to avoid jeopardising ongoing investigations.
Masemola has also slapped Sibiya with a suspension notice, several weeks after placing him on leave of absence. The latter has filed a new interdict application countering this intended suspension.
