The Authority for Regulation of Telecommunications and Posts ARTP of Senegal has accelerated its digital transformation, unveiling a range of innovative digital tools aimed at modernizing regulatory processes and enhancing transparency across the country's telecommunications ecosystem. The announcement was made during a stakeholder meeting on January 22, 2026, which brought together representatives from government, operators, service providers, universities, startups, and consumer associations.
The initiative highlights Senegalese expertise in emerging technologies and emphasizes digital sovereignty as a key priority. The new digital tools are designed to improve regulatory efficiency, streamline interactions between regulators, operators, and users, and foster a more data-driven, transparent approach to telecommunications oversight. This effort aligns with the country's broader vision under the New Technological Deal, which positions digital innovation as a driver of sovereignty, competitiveness, and modernization of public services.
Eight key platforms have already been deployed by ARTP's technical teams, including SUNUCARTO national map of digital infrastructure, RESEAU monitoring quality of customer experiences, CATALOGUE operator offers and promotions, DMARKET rate monitoring, NUMFLEX national number portability, CLAIMS unified complaints management, FSVA management of value-added service providers, and VCN monitoring visits and ship checks.
