A womans cries pierced the air outside the Booysens magistrates court on Tuesday after a brazen shooting left two people dead and three others wounded.
Standing near the cordoned-off crime scene, the woman sobbed uncontrollably, shouting, how was someone with a gun able to enter the court premises, how? Around her, distraught family members clung to one another crying, as the reality of the incident unfolded.
Inside the secured area, the scene was grim. Two bodies lay where they had fallen. One victim was sprawled face down on the staircase, while another lay down between parked cars in the courts parking lot. Both bodies were covered as police cordoned off the area and forensic teams moved in.
