The South African Weather Service SAWS has strongly urged the public to take weather warnings seriously to ensure they stay safe.
The weather service has warned of continued rainfall over the festive period and into the New Year.
Briefing the media in Pretoria, forecaster Lehlohonolo Thobela says persistent rainfall is expected to continue across several provinces.
