A morning hike on one of Cape Town's most popular trails ended in tragedy today, after a hiker fell from a section of the Lion's Head route within Table Mountain National Park.
Information from SANParks via a Facebook post indicates that the incident occurred earlier in the morning, prompting an immediate multi-agency response.
Rescue teams worked under challenging conditions along the mountain's rugged slopes in an attempt to reach the hiker as quickly as possible.
