A Yellow Level 2 warning has been issued by the South African Weather Service SAWS with severe thunderstorms in the eastern Free State. This as a cold snap grips the province.
Forecaster Lungile Makondo says cold conditions to windy and isolated showers and a chance of light snowfall can be expected over the southern high lying areas.
Makondo says temperatures are expected to improve slightly towards the weekend.
