Sassa Gold Cards To Remain Active Beyond 31 May: Postbank

Postbank has confirmed that the South African Social Security Agency Sassa gold cards will remain active and functional beyond the 31st of next month.

It says the aim is to ensure that beneficiaries who have not transitioned from the gold to black cards have uninterrupted access to social grants. This means beneficiaries can still withdraw cash and make purchases.

Postbanks Chief Commercial Officer, Thami Cele, says beneficiaries who have not yet switched to the black cards should not panic.

The most important thing is to make sure that theres no disruption in beneficiaries getting their grant, and thats the commitment that we have always made, and we continue to keep that promise. I think this time, the point that needs to be taken is that, again beyond May, for those that had not necessarily taken the black card, they should not despair, and they should not panic - that their cards will work beyond May until further notice of course when we do resume to replace the black card again.
