The South African Revenue Service SARS says it has strengthened resources ahead of tax filing season to boost compliance.
SARS is expanding digital services, including a new WhatsApp channel, to help taxpayers access assessments and avoid long queues.
The filing season begins on the first of July, with about six million taxpayers set for auto-assessment.
