Mohamed Salah has been named the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year for the third time, equaling Thierry Henry's record.
The Liverpool forward earned an overwhelming 90 percent of the vote , the largest margin recorded this century, after leading the Reds to the Premier League title. With 28 goals and 18 assists in the league, Salah has been the engine behind Liverpool's success under new manager Arne Slot.
This marks Salah's third time receiving the FWA's top individual honor, having previously won in 2017-18 and 2021-22. He joins Thierry Henry as only the second player to win the award three times, ahead of other Premier League icons such as Cristiano Ronaldo, who won it twice.
Salah is now just one goal contribution away from equaling the Premier League's all-time single-season record of 47, jointly held by Alan Shearer and Andy Cole. With a fourth Golden Boot in reach and Liverpool now two-time champions in five years, the Egyptian has firmly placed himself as a front runner for the 2025 Ballon dOr.
Liverpool teammate Virgil van Dijk finished second in the voting, with Newcastle striker Alexander Isak third and Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice fourth.
Mohamed Salah, who recently signed a new contract to remain at Liverpool , is also the leading contender for the Premier League Player of the Season and the Players' Player of the Year awards.
