Ryanair has closed its Prime membership loyalty scheme after eight months, saying that the scheme cost the airline more than it generated.
Earlier this year, Ryanair introduced a Prime subscriber discount for an annual fee of 79 R1 560. This gave passengers a range of benefits such as free reserved seats, complimentary travel insurance, and exclusive access to monthly seat sales.
According to the airline, existing Prime members will have access to monthly low fare offers until October 2026, but no new members can sign up.
