Former Portuguese international midfielder Rui Costa has been re-elected as president of the prominent Lisbon football club, Benfica, securing a new term spanning 2025 through 2029.
Costa, who first took office in 2021, won the second-round vote with 65.9 per cent of the ballots, defeating his rival, lawyer and former vice-president Joao Noronha Lopes.
The election , which concluded on Saturday, saw a historic turnout of 93,081 members.
