Abuja -The House of Representatives, yesterday, moved closer to overhauling Nigerias electoral framework, by approving and amending key clauses of the Electoral Act Amendment Bill aimed at strengthening the powers of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, tightening electoral procedures and addressing gaps exposed during recent elections.
The bill was considered clause-by-clause at plenary, with lawmakers adopting several provisions designed to enhance transparency, improve the conduct of elections and reduce post-election disputes.
