The uMkhonto weSizwe Party MKP says leadership changes within the party are inevitable given its rapid formation ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Speaking to the SABC News while reflecting on its second anniversary, MKP Head of the Presidency Magasela Mzobe says the party had to be built backwards, with most senior cadres deployed directly into Parliament.

Mzobe says, "South Africans were hearing about a new political party six months, five months into elections. There's no time to build an organisation. You want people to go and vote. You've got no time to deal with all other dynamics of identifying capacity and he Jacob Zuma then had to build an organisation backward now, where you have a serious responsibility of being an official opposition, and 99 of your members of Parliament are new in the formalised political arena.
