Reports Of A Tremor Being Felt In Midrand And Ekurhuleni

An earth tremor has reportedly being felt in parts of Midrand in the north of Johannesburg and in Ekurhuleni.

Ekurhuleni Emergency Services says it has not yet received reports of any incidents of damage to properties.

The Council for Geosciences is yet to issue a formal statement regarding the magnitude of the tremor.

Ekurhuleni EMS spokesperson William Ntladi, We havent yet received any complaints from the residents as far as the damages and magnitude or any impacts concerned. However, we can say as well emergency services we are on high alert should there be any challenges or any problems that we going to receive. We will be able to respond across and go and assist to render the humanitarian emergency rescue services to those affected.
