Chief Dawid Stuurman International Airport CDSIA has begun renovations with completion of the first phase expected on November 16.
Many of ACSAs airports, including CDSIA, have not seen significant infrastructure upgrades since the 2010 FIFA World Cup. This is the first of several upgrades planned for the airport over the next five years through the Terminal Capacity Optimisation Project. Ahead of the full Terminal Expansion Project planned for 2030, the Terminal Capacity Optimisation Project will serve as an interim solution.
A 2024 capacity analysis found congestion during peak periods in key areas of the terminal, including the departures concourse and lounge as well as security screening.
